No one is visiting Egypt's pyramids — and hundreds of millions in tourism revenue are going out the window

Egypt's tourism industry has been decimated by years of political unrest and a recent increase in fears of terrorism. One government official said the country is losing hundreds of millions of dollars a month in tourism revenue.

Recently, 18-year-old daredevil Andrej Ciesielski traveled to Cairo. While he was there, it was so empty that he was able to illegally climb up the Great Pyramid of Giza in broad daylight. His first-person footage of the climb — which he's now sorry for having done, he told INSIDER — shows just how sparse the crowds are at one of the world's great wonders.
