A lot of luggage is expensive, probably more expensive than you'd think it is or would like to spend on it.
That's just one of the reasons people seem to really like Herschel Supply Co.'s suitcases and duffels. Where other popular travel brands, like Tumi, Filson, and WANT Les Essentials de la Vie, sell weekend bags for upwards of $400, many of Herschel's are priced under $100.
However, price isn't why these bags are so likeable — it's not the most important reason, at least.
While undeniably affordable, Herschel Supply Co.'s utilitarian features, attention to detail, and good looks are what keep customers coming back for more. Take the Novel Duffel, for example: It has a removable shoulder strap, a cleverly segregated shoe compartment, an easy-to-clean fabric liner, and a stylish exterior that's perfect for weekend trips or the gym.
There's not much, if anything, to not like about it. Its only costing $80 is an added bonus.
You can buy the duffel in a bunch of different colors and patterns, including plaid and camouflage. But we like it best in plain black.
Herschel Supply Co. Novel Duffel, $79.99, available at Amazon.
