This Expanding Suitcase Might Be The Solution To Your Carry-On Woes

Some terrible, no good things may happen to our bags once we check them at the airport, but the fact that we're paying for the convenience is even worse. Baggage fees have gotten outrageous and consumers will do just about anything to avoid them.

Bag maker Briggs & Riley knows this, so it created the Baseline suitcase with frequent fliers in mind. The bag features a nifty compression mechanism called CX Expansion-Compression that helps fliers fit their bags in the overheard bin (via Gizmodo).

Using a ratcheting mechanism on both sides of the suitcase's interior, the Baseline expands to allow more room for clothing and whatever else one needs. When it's closed and zipped shut, the packer can press it down so it shrinks back to carry-on dimensions in seconds flat.

At $400, the Baseline's smallest model doesn't come cheap, but it might be worth it to avoid the hassle of being nickeled and dimed at the airport.
